Dr. Wiegand is a board-certified specialist in veterinary dentistry & oral surgery. In 2018 Dr. Wiegand founded the Florida Dental and Oral Surgery Center in Stuart and West Palm Beach Florida to provide advanced veterinary dental and oral surgery services to pets in need with a focus on personalized patient care and compassion for both the patients themselves and their family.
Dr. Wiegand graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995, he then practiced in Atlanta as an emergency clinician for 4 years, becoming skilled in emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery. The next 14 years, Dr. Wiegand practiced as a veterinarian at the Palm City Animal Medical Center, where he developed a special interest in advanced dental procedures. In 2014, Dr. Wiegand joined the Animal Dental Center in Baltimore, Maryland, and completed a formal four-year Clinical Residency in Dentistry and Oral Surgery. Dr. Wiegand lectures to veterinary professionals and the public on advanced veterinary dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery. He is a member of the American Veterinary Dental College, American Veterinary Medical Association, Florida Veterinary Medical Association, Treasure Coast Veterinary Medical Association and the Palm Beach Veterinary Society. In his spare time, he enjoys scuba diving, swimming, surfing and, spending quality time with his wife and their pets.
